Christmas Party Gifts

This is another of the lovely gifts that were part of the gift exchange at our Demonstrator Christmas Party. The frame is a collage type frame you can purchase at most hobby stores. Although this is simple to put together with a few punches, some Designer Series Paper and a bit of stamping, it is a lovely picture to hang on your own wall (I love that when you make something yourself you can customize the images and colors to fit the space that you need rather than spending 6 months combing through endless stores trying to find just the right picture for the space.) or to give. This is not hard, and you can make your own. Our Designer Series Papers make designing a snap with great color and image combinations. Click here to see our line of Designer Series Papers. While you're there (in my online store), why not order a few and start creating something fun?

Seasonal Thank You

I love thank you notes, and it's a good thing. I use lots of them. I love to send thank yous, not only for dinner at someone's home or a gift, but also for someone's friendship and/or kind words. When we thank someone, even for something very small, it does us good! Here's a very simple but very special thank you note (by Julie Davison) that would be appropriate for any time during the winter. I've already started my thank you notes from Christmas, and you can, too! Handmade, heartfelt thanks:) As always, you can contact me at 210-492-3218 or candy@sweetstamper.com to learn more.

50/50 Board Winner!

As most of you know, I have a 50/50 board: a board with 50 squares, sort of like a giant Bingo card. "Stampin' Up!" is written across the top and "Stamp" along the left side. You get to write your name on a square for every $50 you spend. I confess it's been full for several weeks now, but I just now had time to get a drawing ready and prevailed upon my hubby to draw. Da, da, da, daaaah! And the winner is...Alicia Castillo! Alicia has won a $50 shopping spree through the catalog or for various upcoming classes. Congratulations, Alicia, and happy stamp shopping!

The next 50/50 board is not yet made, but I have been collecting names for it over the past few weeks since the present board was already full. I will get that board made this week. You won't want to miss YOUR chance to win a $50 shopping spree, compliments of the Sweet Stamper:)

Scrapbooking Your Christmas/Winter

Now that Christmas 2009 is officially behind us, how do you plan to scrapbook all the photos you took? I have several friends that are taking winter vacations in conjunction with Christmas, and there will be lots of photos (hopefully!) from those trips as well.

My Digital Studio is a great place to upload your digital photos, embellish them, and begin building a scrapbook. This lovely 8 x 8 page was created by Judy, one of our Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Canada (we are international:), and is gorgeous. She had a beautiful photo to begin with, and the Winter Post stamp set (in My Digital Studio) is the perfect embellishment. A few mats were added and you have a super simple, simply beautiful scrapbook page. Did you know that you can enlarge stamp sets in My Digital Studio? It is a super-cool digital system. Call me at 210-492-3218 or email at candy@sweetstamper.com to learn more about MDS. Click here to order My Digital Studio from my online store today--you will get a Decor Element (valued at up to $16.95) free with that order! Contact me for details if you are unsure how to receive your free Decor Element.

More gifts from the Christmas party exchange

These very cute items were made by my upline, Gail Beezley. Wouldn't they make a great gift for someone going on a cruise? Or someone who can't wait for summer to begin (all the northerners:)? This project uses the Big Shot and the Daisies #2 Flower Die. This is a fantastic way to customize your own tote bag and/or flip flops. You can color-coordinate like never before! Stampin' Up!'s Big Shot by Sizzix opens an unbelievable amount of creative horizons to every crafter or wannabe. It's so easy to use, and the possibilities are endless.

Stay tuned for upcoming Big Shot classes in 2010. Anyone who purchases a Big Shot from me, past or present, will get one class free. There will be lots of fun projects, and I can't wait to start! Click here to see my calendar (the Big Shot classes have not yet been added) for events you want to attend in 2010.

More fabric fun with the Big Shot!

This was the gift I gave for the Christmas party gift exchange. These are the fun Big Shot flowers created using the exclusive Stampin' Up! Flower Folds die and the Big Shot. These are the creative genius of Shelli Gardner, founder and president of Stampin' Up! They are great fun to make and wear. For my gift, I gave two different holiday brooches to coordinate with different outfits and one non-holiday brooch in neutral colors. You can purchase the die by clicking here. I would be more than happy to give you instructions on how to make these yourself. They add pizazz to your wardrobe and make wonderful handmade gifts for friends and loved ones.

Fabric Fun with the Big Shot!

This is one of the fabulous gifts that was exchanged at our annual demonstrator Christmas party this month. Don't you just love it? It's called a Rag Bag and is quilted using the Scallop Square Stampin' Up! exclusive die to cut the quilting squares. Imagine cutting 8 squares at a time! Now that is a quilter's dream come true:) You can put 8 layers of fabric into the Big Shot at one time (with thicker fabrics like felt, you cannot cut as many layers at once) and with a few cranks of the handle have 8 scalloped squares of fabric, perfectly even and perfectly cut. This bag uses the lovely Figgy Pudding Christmas fabric. I'll be bringing you much more about these bags in the future as I aim to make one of these bags myself asap. Sad note: I did NOT get this bag in the gift exchange:( Click here to purchase the Scallop Square die for yourself and let the creativity begin!

More Club Projects

Isn't this card cute and fun? This is another of our December Hostess Club projects and another of my talented daughter's (Tiffany Mirisoleiman)designs. We always use the Big Shot in club, and this card uses it for 2 different elements.

I have openings for my 2nd Monday Hostess Club coming up for renewal in February. If you would like to stamp regularly, build your supplies in a budget-friendly way, get 6 free classes, get hostess benefits, and have a great Girls' Night Out, then Hostess Club is for you! The 2nd Monday group begins anew in February, so let me know if you want a space asap because this is a popular group with limited space.

I also have a 2nd Friday club forming. We aim to begin in January, so let me know if that is a better schedule for you.

The Sunday Post:)

I'm featuring the Holy Family stamp set once again, this time with lots of color. Don't you love that ray of light? This card, made by another stamper, does a beautiful job of putting the spotlight on the real meaning of Christmas. By using soft colors on Mary and Joseph and the bright and radiant Crushed Curry on the ray of light and Baby Jesus, the eye is drawn to the true light of Christmas.

I hope you are enjoying this fabulous time of year. As we approach the big day, do something extra to make your Christmas handmade, heartfelt. Call me at 210-492-3218 or email me at crattray@sbcglobal.net for ideas, help, or just a chat. I'm here for you!

12 Days of Holiday Sales-Begins Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, December 11th, is the beginning of 12 Days of Holiday Sales from Stampin' Up! I can't wait to see what's on sale! To sweeten the pot, I'm adding my own special:

FREE shipping on orders of $50 or more!
You must email or call me with your order to access free shipping--if you place the order yourself online, the system will automatically charge regular shipping.

Check back here tomorrow for a listing of the sale items and plan to save:)

2010 Mini Calendars

This is the 3-D project we are doing in my Hostess Clubs this month. These make a nice little something to give someone and/or a great way to see the entire year at a glance on your own fridge, file cabinet, etc. I put two little magnets on the back so you can hang it somewhere convenient. If you place the scallop flower a bit lower on the "frame," you can mail this using one of our medium envelopes with a standard stamp. I hope you like these!

Would you like to create little gifts like this? I purchased too many of the 2010 12-month mini calendars and am offering them for sale at cost. They are like a little pad of paper, and you just tear off the months as they pass. The size is:

2 1/2" x 1 3/4" (this is the one pictured in the club project above)
3" x 2 1/4" (this is the one pictured alone at right and is actually a 13-month calendar as it includes December 2009)

The smallest are $.23 each pad
The next size up are $.25 each pad

So call me at 210-492-3218 or email me at crattray@sbcglobal.net to place your order. I can mail them to you if you like.

Monthly Stamping

This is a photo of just one of the projects we made in club this month. (Click on the photo for an up-close look at the texture.) We have such a good time in our hostess clubs--a group of 6 ladies who each commit to 6 months of club. They come to my studio once each month (2nd Monday, 2nd Tuesday, 2nd Thursday (scrapbookers), or 2nd Friday) for a great girls night out of stamping fun. The regular clubs make 2 cards and 1 3-D project (like a box or favor) and the scrappers make two 12 x 12 layouts each month. The projects are free, and each member makes a minimum $25 product purchase each month. It's a great way to build your supplies on a budget while trying out lots of stamp sets, colors, embellishments, and techniques. Because clubs are a type of co-op, each member takes a turn being the hostess. That means free stuff! On your "hostess month," you receive the Hostess Benefits generated by the club orders. That is a minimum of a Level 1 Hostess Set of stamps or papers and at least $15 in free merchandise of your choice. Pretty sweet deal!

Contact me for available space in any of these clubs, and we will get you into regular, monthly stamping, regular, monthly fun! 210-492-3281 or crattray@sbcglobal.net

Here is another example of the A Wish for Peace stamp set, this time using the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper for splashes of color and additional Christmas imagery as well as a greeting from the hostess set Christmas Punch. (This is made by another stamper.) The dove, one of the stamps in A Wish for Peace set, is cut out and popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals for a wonderful 3-D look. I really love Christmas and its many facets and images. The church amongst the trees and the visiting dove evoke visions of a Christmas Eve service in a lovely old chapel crammed full of worshipers bundled up in heavy coats and boots, gathered to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. All that is achieved with some stamps, ink and paper! Click here to order stamps, ink and paper today to get started on creating your own lovely images for all the occasions of your life.

December Gifts Class

As promised in my newsletter yesterday, here is a fresh photo will all three of the projects we will be making this Sunday in the December Gifts Class. My photography issues have been resolved, and here they are in living color! Projects for Sunday:

2 Marble Tile Coasters (these have irregularities in them as they are natural stone--they actually look really cool and a bit like rescued Roman ruins:)with felt feet to protect your furniture
5 Monogrammed Love Notes (3 x 3 size) with envelopes (photo on right) in a presentation box
1 Lip Balm Holder filled with an Avon Lip Balm (photo on left)
Written Instructions are included in the class price so that you can reproduce them all year long!

These projects all match as you can see. (The color scheme is Rose Red, Basic Black, Very Vanilla.) That gives you the option of giving them all as one really nice largish gift or to break them up into smaller gifts/stocking stuffers. These projects are all designed by my very talented daughter Tiffany, also a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. You can check out her blog here.

Woo-hoo! Extravaganza Extension!

Due to very high volumes and some folks being unable to get their orders into a very overloaded system, the Extravaganza Specials are being extended by one day. So you can still order these very special bundles and single items at 30-50% off! This offer lasts until tomorrow, December 2nd at 12:50 a.m.(okay, technically that is December 3rd, but only because we are in a different time zone:). Click here to start ordering and saving! I'm giving you the list of specials below, which is rather long, because it has already been removed from the website. I had to cut and paste, so be advised that the first price you see on each item is the regular price and the second price is the sale price. Because it has been removed from the site, you will have to use the item number below to get the sale price. If you have ANY questions or need help placing your order, feel free to call me at 210-492-3218. I'm here for you. Happy shopping!

Last Christmas Card Club

I posted a few days ago about our last Christmas Card Club of 2009. There were no photos of the cards, so I thought I would share a few of the November CCC photos to let you see just a few of the beautiful cards we make. There are 4 designs, 6 cards each session with a variety of styles and colors. Won't you join us for one last round of the 2009 Christmas Card Club? Your spot must be reserved with payment by Thursday, December 10th, so mark your calendar, and let's stamp!

Full details are a few posts down. See you in the Stamping Studio!

December Gifts Class

Have you signed up for the Gifts Class this Sunday, December 6th, at 5:00? The deadline is this Wednesday, December 2nd. There are only a few more spots at the table available, so hurry. Here are the details:

Make:
2 marble tile coasters
1 set of 5 monogrammed love notes with matching envelopes in a presentation box
1 cute little booklet that holds an Avon Lip Balm (lip balm included)

These gifts are coordinated to match, so you may give them as one large gift, or break them up into individual gifts/stocking stuffers.

Receive:
Full written instructions to take home so you can recreate these great gifts. Change up the images, and you can use these gifts year round for various occasions. As always, Tiffany (my demonstrator daughter, click here to see her blog) and I will be teaching the class together to bring double hands-on help, double motivation, and double fun!

Here's the paypal button for your convenience. The $22.50 class fee includes all supplies except basic adhesive. So bring your Snail and/or Anywhere Glue Sticks (or call me at 210-492-3218 to get some) and let's make gifts!

The Sunday Post:)

This simple yet lovely card (created by another stamper)uses the A Wish for Peace stamp set (11614, set of 3 stamps for $16.95) and features the largest image of a church nestled in the midst of snowy trees and the very lovely text. The vellum is laid over the Whisper White Card Stock and Real Red Designer Series Paper (from the hostess set of papers in the previous IB&C) and then the stamped layer is backed with some Real Red Card Stock and placed atop the Vellum for a unique, pretty effect. Isn't it lovely?!!

As always, call me at 210-492-3218 or email me at crattray@sbcglobal.net to talk cards, designs, projects you would like to make, or to book a workshop for 2010.

Get those cards ready now!

Have you already made your Christmas cards for this year? If not, there is still time, but you will need to get started very soon. I am having a final installment of the Christmas Card Club on Saturday, December 12th, 9:30-11:30 a.m. You will leave that class with 6 beautiful, handmade Christmas cards with envelopes, ready for giving or mailing--made by you! Here is the paypal button to reserve your spot for the class.

If you need to make more than 6 cards (I make 50-60 each year:), call me at 210-492-3218, and I will help you make a plan, gather some supplies (you can use what you already have on hand and then add to that stash if necessary), and get those cards made. You will send/give your handmade Christmas cards with pride, and the recipients will be touched by the extra care expressed with a card made by you. Are you a total novice? I can help you put together a very simple design that will be lovely. It will be our secret how simple they were to make:) Email me at crattray@sbcglobal.net today and let's get started!
