I decided to scrapbook this lovely portrait of my 3 children. I have several copies of this portrait, so I thought it would be great to include it in an album. I used the title "All My Children" as sort of a play on words. Sometimes, life with our kids feels like a soap opera! LOL.
Once again, I used Mellow Moss, one of our retiring colors I will really miss. This 8-1/2 x 8-1/2 page turned out really pretty, and I am so pleased. Because the portrait is sepia-toned, I chose Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke as my main colors.
Every brown is a combination of many colors, and I wanted to pick up the greens. Also, if I had chosen to go with brown card stocks and inks, it would be too much of a good thing:) By using a few of the shades that are in the actual photo, I was able to enhance the photo rather than distract from it. One of my personal pet peeves with scrapbooking is when a page is created that is a veritable work of art, but the photos are so overwhelmed by the artwork that you only notice the art. The focus of scrapbook pages SHOULD be the photographs, IMHO!

Check out my new pages!
Have you noticed the new captions at the top of my blog? Look up a bit, just under the blog banner. You will now see the following captions: Home, Card Classes Available, and Scrapbook Classes Available in pink letters. (I do like pink:) There's also a special page for those wishing to join my team of demonstrators: the Southern Sweet Stampers. Now you can just click on any of the captions to be on different pages but still be on my blog. How cool is that ! I'm pretty excited about this new feature!
So why are there more pages to my blog? So you can see what classes are available for registration at any time. Classes on the class pages are those that you can register for right then. Once those classes are over, they will be removed and other current classes will appear. That way, if you miss the actual blog post about the class, you can still get all the info and register for the class without having to search through days and days of blog posts. I hope you like this new feature!

Book of Me-March
Join us for this fun class, and scrapbook your own life! Here's this month's layout. I love the spring, fresh colors as well as the bright cheeriness! Is cheeriness a word? Well, it should be!
One of our Book of Me classmates is creating this book to give as a gift to her daughter, presently away at college, for Christmas. It will be a perfect book for her to chronicle her first year of college. She can pop in her photos, add some journalling, and have a scrapbook ready and done. What a perfect gift!
Book of Me can be a wonderful gift or a picture of your own life in 2010. It can be a picture of your life in your 20s or first year of married life--it can be what YOU make it! So come join us for a night of creative fun. Our layouts are simple enough for beginners and unique enough for veterans.
